We should definitely make this clearer in the infographic but the 1% and 4.5% numbers represent the conversion rates for those two variations. They are not the INCREASE in conversion rates. Hence going from 1% to 4.5% is an increase of 350% and that's why they get $4,500 in sales instead of $1,000 in sales. Does that make sense?
