You should be able to just set it in the CSS.

Though I suppose it's possible to switch to Computer Modern via the CSS, the equations seems to be included as PNG's. The font of those would not change simply by modifying the CSS.

\usepackage[garamond]{mathdesign}

after running

sudo getnonfreefonts --sys -a
