I bought Path of Exile 2, spent 5 hours just waiting to get access to the servers, something about the movement in the game made me physically ill after just two hours of playing, asked for a refund, was denied.
Linux mint technically still does, perhaps because they’re lagging behind Debian. AntiX does but that has its own tradeoffs. With full potential respect for your situation, if you’re not able to obtain 64 bit hardware, there’s nothing that wrong with not upgrading your OS for now
Bookworm will get updates for another year if I have read the Debian Wiki correctly so perhaps there is no need for immediate action as Bookworm becomes oldstable?
In addition to Mint and AntiX there is also Slackware (I use xfce rather than KDE) but adding software outside the (large) base install is not an 'apt-get thing' process.
Salix Linux, based on Slackware, does have package repositories with a reasonable selection of applications. Salix is based on the stable Slackware 15.0 so has nicely aged packages.
Void Linux also has an xfce4 based live i686 iso you can look at and decide to install from.
I also use xfce, my computer is an Acer Aspire One, limited in ... well everything, I did upgrade the storage to an SSD, but it's still an Atom CPU, so whatever is the lightest is the best.
I've only had bad experiences with Parker pens and refills, they just don't flow and fill the line as nicely and constantly as Pilot Hi-Tec and other Pilot pens.
I paid more than 20€ for a Parker pen with refills and it was worse than a 3€ Pilot V5 Hi-Tecpoint (which is my current favourite, I have it in black, red, green, blue and pink colours).
Most of the best pens refills are made by japanese companies (eg. Pilot, Zebra, Uni-ball, etc.) and Parker style is nonexistant in that country. If you look at any "top XX best pens" lists online, the vast majority is not avaible in Parker. And when they are, they usually have fewer color and size options.
It's very disapointing to see brand new nice pen designs that only support Parker refills.
Parker refills are a nightmare. I have tested both the Indian brand and the French brand of QuinkFlow several times, and they are all horrible. Atrocious. I got some Monteverde, Pelikan and Schneier refills and they work well.
If you can get a compatible Monteverde, it is great. Schneier is also very nice, but hybrid. Pelikan has the pelikan blue style, you either love it or hate it. QuinkFlow... ok, whoever says they are fine, send me that legendary "fine" refill I keep hearing about.
I used to drive a Toyota Yaris Hybrid and I really liked it, I moved to a different country and couldn't take the car with me and now I drive a scooter, but if I'll ever buy a car again, it'll most likely be a hybrid, I really like the range.
I had that happen in Portugal when I was refueling my scooter, the Galp gas station tired to take 100€, which I didn't have to it took everything it could, but then said that I don't have enough money to pay, even though it was less than 10€... I had to pay with cash and I didn't see the money that was taken on my debit card for almost a month...
It's just that AI/LLM is in fashion at the moment, but it'll pass as all trends pass. Before it was crypto and "Rewritten in Rust". Trends come and they go.
If you're finding that it's affecting your mental health, it might be better to just take a break, there's a high likelihood that HN will still be here when you return. ^^
While I don't have data to support the number, I would say that it's a pretty safe bet to say that majority of Steam Deck owners do not use the desktop mode on regular basis, they might check out what it is, but the majority probably stays in the game mode.
Regarding your point, do realise that just by being a NH reader, you're in the 1%, not to mention all the other delineations that are commonly attributed to the HN crowd.
Microsoft naming makes sense if you imagine that the person that came up with the names was stoned, like high on weed.
"Yo dude, to use the spreadsheets you've got to like excel and stuff. ",
"When you make your point it's gotta be powerful. ",
"Ain't my point having a database if you can't access it. ",
"A: I need a tool to write my book, it's gonna change the world. B: Word bro, word. ",
"Bro, you have to connect with people to expand your outlook on life, the world and stuff. ".
