I assume its the USA using the UK to do its dirty work, as always?

Hence why Trump was cheering on Starmer the other day, despite all that has gone on between them.

Americans need to wake up and realise their state uses uk/israel to do what they don't want to be seen to be doing.

Arm is Softbank.

And Softbank is all in on Team USA.

softbank is usually the dumb money on the poker table, funding bad ideas long after anyone intelligent leaves them. wework is probably the best example.

getting funded by softbank is probably a good proxy indicator for companies losing their competitive edge.

At least in the USA, Europe. Remember ARM China going rouge: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=28329731

I don't see how they went rouge? https://www.datacenterdynamics.com/en/news/arm-lays-off-70-s...

Arm is still in control. Some went to form another company however.

But they don't have access to new designs and no way to add new architecture extensions that could be widely adopted.

China is already red.

Arm the company is based in the UK and thr UK wants to rejoin the EU. I don't think you should be so sure about that.

RISC-V is open source.

For cybersecurity, look at the entry certifications and do one of them, then start applying for entry level jobs.

Move on to the more intermediate certifications if you want to/keep learning.

Freelance? Start your own company?

Guys just a reminder - best to get your own domain and use that for your email rather than using proton.com/gmail.com/outlook.com etc

That way worst case you can switch it to another email provider/self-host.

I want to do that, but I also want many aliases without buying many domains that are ultimately tied back to me by ICANN WHOIS. + aliases and catch-all rules are not really a solution for this because if it’s all on one domain it’s all linkable to one identity.

I’ve also considered using a service like Njalla, but they’re expensive and you need to trust they won’t run away with your domains.

Is there some way of having a backup for relatively short outages like this on a single domain? From what I understand DNS entries for mail and mail security block quickly switching providers temporarily right?

Proton's target audience are folks who care about privacy and at least a few bits of anonymity. Using your own domain will make you stand out like a sore thumb across all services you sign up to.

You’re not wrong, but many Proton customers are also just suckers who fell for the marketing without understanding any of the tech or limitations of the service. I say this as a Proton customer myself.
