I built my ideal laptop... 4TB storage, the 5070, all the mods I would need, and it comes to $4000+ :(

My ASUS ROG Strix cost me $1500 back when the 3080's were new and has a 3080. Have prices risen that much?

I built a ROG Zephyrus equivalent: The ROG is $2,100 and the Framework is $2700.

So its more expensive but not $1500 vs $4000 expensive.

This was comparing the lowest end model ROG because that's the only one with a 5070. It was also 100% like-for-like, such as paying for windows, something I personally wouldn't do with a framework.

Buy the core parts from Framework and then buy & install things like NVMe and memory yourself. Will save a considerable amount.

Aye that's not a bad plan, to be honest I think my Strix still has a few years left at least but we'll see.

Judging by my experience with the Framework 13, you gain basically nothing going pre-built. The DIY work required is laughable. It's so, so easy and simple. If you don't account for nervousness, you could do it in 5 min, no problem. Comes with a very nice little screw driver, which is all you need.

Storage is expensive at framework. I bought the storage for my 16 elsewhere and it was substantially cheaper.

I had Asus ROG zephyrus M16 2021 and it's a hot piece of shit considering €2500 sticker price.

I wouldn’t say sour grapes, just that people have a certain budget. Forgoing Business/First i used to be able to afford more days away, maybe an extra city, etc

As I get older I take business class more, because I prefer the comfort over having a few extra days. Ask younger me and he would have taken the extra holiday days

You could always log onto VATSIM as an observer

Even just watching VATSIM YouTubers will expose you to plenty of ATC jargon

We've all been there

Same in China, the amount of issues I’ve had at banks, airports etcwith 4 names is unbelievable

Can you give me an idea of what a png/jpg would look like on one of these? I only see the calendar on the page...

It's a monochrome screen, pictures will probably need to be dithered to 800x480 1-bit, something like this:

You can, I've already made a modified version of Apollo and sideloaded it onto my phone with a tweak to set my own key instead of Apollo's

However there is a line on the developers page now that says all apps need to accept terms and sign up for a developers program, so I have my doubts it will continue to work either

How?

Apollo’s dev never released the source code to the app, only the server which sends out push notifications.

Sideloadly and a lot of messing about, it doesn't need to be jailbroken though.

While it's still here: https://old.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/145y787/tutorial...

That sub is private now

Presumsbly you could disassemble the app, replace the relevant keys, then sign it with your own developer app.

Probably possible to edit the API key resource without actually needing to see the source code.

Probably jailbroken phone, but honestly I am equally clueless.

> How?

And why? Before a few days ago, it wasn’t an issue at all.

I mean the reason should be plainly obvious if you’ve been following the last few days.

Apps were always willing to pay money for their usage, but not the insane pricing Reddit put in front of them ($12k for 50 million calls)

2.5$ per user per month doesn’t seem insane at all

It does when it is enacted with one months notice.

Seems to be working now, not sure if it's just me or whether it's working for everyone?

Seems to be fixed indeed.
