I absolutely agree with the touch bar, I think it's more like just a gimmick feature and don't have any real function. In addition, sometimes I accidentally mute my computer thanks to the Touch Bar button on the right side.
I also heard about the keyboard problems, but so far I didn't experience any, it works well, but yeah, the feeling is different and you can dislike it.
I have a touch bar. I find it kind of neat and occasionally useful but I would not pay extra for it.
The keyboard is fine. I don't have a strong preference for it vs. the older Mac keyboard or vice versa.
My speculation is that the touch bar is a toe in the water of software defined keyboard interfaces. In the future they could make the entire bottom panel of the Mac a haptic software defined interface. The touch bar API and chip/platform would be the basis for that.
On the rest of the machine I agree that "thin and light" has become a cargo cult at Apple. I'd like more battery, more RAM, and a faster process more than thinner and lighter. But the machine works for me and it's still overall better than most alternatives.
I hope it won't mean less feature. However, I don't like the new Adwords either, the UI is better, but the whole UX is a crap, I have to read tons of articles to find the good old features.
I don't think it's a bad thing by itself if children have access to the main communaction platforms to chat with their friends and communicate with their parents. However, I agree, parents should be prepared when they let their children to use the web.
You are welcome! :) I use PH a few times per month, so I don't know how I could miss it so far, it was absolutely new for me. Its a great collection by the way! Nice job! :)
It really depends on the company culture, but in a lot of cases, going for a cigarette break is not equivalent with taking time away from your work. There are a lot of brainstorming and work related discussion can happen, jut like in a tea or coffee break.
I turned off all the unnecessary notification like Twitter, Facebook, Messenger... etc. both on my computer and smartphone, I only check them when I have a little spared time to do so. They started to disturb me and actually they didn't help to keep the flow at all :)
It's still not completely mobile-phone free, but now I'm absolutely okay with the amount of my smartphone usage time.
