On the other hand, there are two stations on the Berlin map which look quite far apart but are easily walkable in 5 minutes.

Bank and Monument are what spring to mind, though in both projections look pretty close.

It’s S Feuerbachstraße and U Walter Schreiber Platz.

Because you unironically live in a society, and it's give and take. Special interest groups are part of a civilized society.

It very, very clearly came not out of nowhere, even in the show. We had the Brotherhood of Banners resurrecting Bendric several times using the same magic, and in the book we had Lady Stoneheart to show what can also happen after being resurrected.

While the resurrection is probably going to happen if Winds ever comes out, it's not clear if Jon will actually be the Jon we know, or even Jon, after he comes back. Warging into Ghost will probably play a role, as that's a common theme in Dance.

Oh and, we had wights right from the very first book, maybe even Prologue ...

So it's not "convenient", nothing for GRRM is convenient currently, otherwise Winds would be out by now ...

The JS resurrection was not related to the zombies, as JS was able to resume a normal life.

If this could happen in the GoT universe, wouldn't you think that there'd be a massive effort by kings and others to resurrect dead family members? Or even talk about resurrecting them? There was no hint of that.

(Zombies violate the laws of physics, like conservation of energy, which makes it sad that most zombie movies try on some hackneyed explanation for them being the result of some virus. If you're going to try a scientific explanation for them, don't blatantly violate fundamental laws of physics.)

Wasn’t that Matrix Reloaded?

Yes.

I feel anxiety when watching videos with the thumbnails for other videos visible below. Also, I was unable to find the description of videos for waaay too long. Absolutely horrible.

I've been using for many years now the unhook youtube[1] extension to hide any distracting nonsense on youtube, you can select piecemeal what to hide, like the recommended trash in the sidebar, cards at the end of the video and even the main page. Supports firefox, chrome and edge.

I second this recommendation. Unhook is a game-changer if you spend a lot of time on YouTube. It makes the site so much more pleasant to use.

In addition to Unhook, I also use SponsorBlock [1] and Return YouTube Dislike [2].

While SponsorBlock is something that some people might not want/need, I find Return YouTube Dislike to be particularly useful because the like/dislike ratio is a valuable data point for a video I'm about to watch even if it's just an approximate/predicted value.

interesting, why do you get anxiety? Is this the equivalent of doom scrolling? Doom watching a never ending queue of videos?

I can't really explain it. First of all, because thumbnails are mostly eyegore I guess and because it takes the focus away from a much less visually assaulting video? It also doesn't help they're not fully visible.

How am I supposed to focus on the video like this?

I guess if you’re watching YouTube because you’re avoiding something else, your mind already learned to keep whopping between videos and suddenly it’s a TikTok experience.

Not the OP, but I sometimes get rather disgusting/distressing "you might also like" in search results (not home screen). Think thumbnails for diseases/injuries/gore, with shock thumbail and so on.

No, I do not want to see thumbnail for parasite infested arm in my search results.

And the BfV was involved in funding and covering up a right extremist murder spree. Nothing to see here.

And they kept shredding files pertaining to this. Nothing to see here.

That would be far too on the nose, so they decided to do it a few kilometres to the west.

Most movies and fiction TV are shot at 24fps. Reality, news etc are shot at 30fps.

You could embed names, function argument names and locals in an executable as well on Windows until ... probably VS2003 or so. Here's the documentation for it in VS 6.0: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/visualst...

/Z7 and /Zd result in an exe/dll with no seperate pdb. You could however split it into exe/dll + .dbg.

In .NET we actually went back to an embedded symbol format, which has several advantages. However, the symbol format is more compact than the classic PDBs though.

Currently playing SOMA, where this is also an issue. People that got scanned commit suicide for "continuity" reasons, you repeatedly start up a specific mind to extract information out of it - and that version is a copy ... haven't finished it yet, but it's interesting so far.
