What were the risk adjusted returns? Without knowing that, this is all kind of meaningless. Being high beta in a rising market doesn't equate to anything brilliant.

The free version of Gemini says it could not replace the CEO of JP Morgan Chase but that it would make an excellent Chief Risk Officer or Chief Strategist. That would still save a ton of money!

I had a us local domain back in the early 90s, back when uucp still ruled!

Usually engineering/math calc and then a much less rigorous business/arts&crafts calc for the rest.

I remember Leon going overboard. Too bad this is not adjustable, fifty years ago (the 70s) would be more interesting. Certainly a lot more bank robberies, hijackings and both domestic and international terrorism. Not to mention all the political and econ stuff.

I go back to pre-Firefox Mozilla browsers. What I want is faster, less bloat and far better memory management - a corrorlary is probably 'fix all outstanding bugs'. Were it me, I'd put a moratorium of three years on adding anything new, AI in particular.

As a beta user I update often: 146.0b1: 83M download. 125.0b1(Apr 2024) 61M 100.0b1(Feb 2022) 53M. 75.0b1(Apr 2020) 49M

Video in particular is the memory killer as Firefox appears unable to properly reclaim after watching and closing tabs. It is not long before Firefox is pushing 10GB used. Twitter is also a killer.

Really? They knew about Project 2025 when they started development and were 100% certain that Trump would return and green light such a project in 20205?

The "dream" of such a system was there for a long time, waiting for the proper tools to build it. Even without that plan though, once you have a hammer you'll find plenty of nails. Putting heavy stuff in space was always going to catch the eye of the deep-pocketed military.

Yes, but under a different name. Biden was the first to really push back.

Found OpenAI too often heavy handed. On balance, I'd probably pick Gemini narrowly over Seedream and just learn that sometimes Gemini needs a more specific prompt.

Wednesday is Prince spaghetti day!

Thank you for this info. I had no idea why a couple weeks ago the calendar app was suddenly needing to connect to the net on startup and then doing a splash ad. Will be installing the Fossify version shortly!
