okay I don't comment on here often, can check my post history, but absolutely would not sell your bitcoin any time soon considering we have a pro crypto president and have an approx 40% chance of a bitcoin strategic reserve within the first 100 days. terrible advice tbh.

I think the word some is doing most of the work there. There are other investments, too, you know. Diversifying means you sleep better.

(Also, Congress just showed that many Republicans won’t listen to Trump, or Musk, when they have other ideas.)

I wouldn't sell any imo. if anything his conviction should have grown. sell now for what? to buy back higher in 4 years? diversifying in assets that historically perform worse would not make me sleep better tbh esp considering the events on the horizon for btc... nation states buying, US strategic reserve potential, microstrategy issuing 10b stock proposal, etf's buying at an alarming rate. Way too much happening imo to sell at the precipice of what very well could be the end of consumer friendly pricing for btc.

If you’re right that Bitcoin will go up forever, there is no need to buy any back because when Bitcoin goes up, it becomes a larger part of your portfolio. To rebalance your portfolio (get back to the same percentage), you need to sell, and there’s never a time to buy unless it goes down again.

But going by the price history, Bitcoin is very volatile, going down as well as up. Keeping it a fixed percentage of your portfolio would result in buying when it’s lower.

(Substitute any volatile investment for Bitcoin.)

Exactly. I'm in a completely different field than the demographic of HN users; however, easy apply does give me the ability to apply to a bunch of random positions at various tiers. Now I've never had an offer from LinkedIn and a handful of interviews out of the 500+ applications but it does give me the the ability to apply quickly. For cool companies I find that have jobs I am not qualified for I just book mark them into my companies bookmark and periodically check or reach out to a recruiter.

Yeah sadly I started browsing reddit in 2011 when the f7u12 memes and subreddit were popular and it really has gone down in quality and the people posting like you mentioned has changed drastically. I can't wait for the day when a new forum experience replaces it.

just echoing please post update if you do

I know more people affected than unaffected. I can easily count 15-20 people who were laid of or furloughed -- including myself.

Work in entertainment marketing (theatrical trailers and promos) as a finishing coordinator (uprezzing, overcutting, versioning with different dated cards, exporting different specs for different platforms, etc) and out whole industry has essentially been furloughed. It sucks and I don't think it will be temporary, I think a lot of shops will close.

This is going to be a mass extinction event for small businesses.

looks like a college exam room

do you have a link? I can't find it. This same thing was happening to me when I first got the email

I just did it and it worked fine. followed the link from my email.

Im doing alright. Feel like I've plateaued in my current position. Work isn't meaningful nor am I learning as much if at all from when I first started. I work closely with one other person who has a few more years experience. Boss is constantly telling me to learn and absorb as much as I can from this person. It's a bit insulting since I've been teaching this person more the past few months than I've learned from them. Not only that I do believe the reason I know more is because I am open to learning new things whereas this person learned something one way and believes that is the only way to do something. I've been applying to new jobs but no bites. So it's a bit frustrating really contemplating putting in my notice and take my chances finding something else with no distractions. My bosses current vision for my role and my expectations of where I see myself being in a year or two don't align.
