Does anyone know how Superhuman is doing these days?

It's been a bit quiet since their insane hype-cycle during the time this article was published.

They've been shipping features somewhat regularly. One I really like (but was unfortunately gated behind a $10 price bump) was being able to ask AI to find an email "where's that email about blah" or to have it summarize a long email chain "hey what am I supposed to be doing here"

Have you checked out Shortwave? One of the Firebase founders started the company, and they have a really powerful AI e-mail client.

+1 to Shortwave being great

Even though I don’t have real information, I feel that they focused so much on the power user that they must have a high level of stickiness. I don’t even believe they expected to scale beyond the ICP.

I hope, they are not getting ready to do a Rapportive.

I wonder as well -- I have witnessed extremely low churn in the people I know that use it, but that's obv anecdotal.

Not the poster, but since getting a smartwatch with a cellular plan, I've found myself more often leaving my phone when out and about - especially with my kids. I'm still be able to make calls, text, listen to pods and music, pay for stuff, navigation etc. but without any of the distractions.

The only essential thing I'm missing is a camera!

Are you able to connect to Carplay?

I believe you still need your iPhone for that to work. That might have changed recently, but I don’t think so.

Apple watches work fine over Bluetooth, though that leaves a lot to be desired if you’re accustomed to CarPlay.

This.

We've implemented a convoluted solution for this where - if the OAuth user does not exist but the OAuth email is in use by a password-based user - the following happens.

1. We prompt user to authenticate with their password.

2. Once successfully authenticated, we link the OAuth auth method to their user to be used in parallel with a password-based login.

Not every Auth provider might support linking multiple Auth methods to a single user, we use Firebase Auth and for us this works fine. We even support multiple OAuth options (FB, Google) and do the same matching between the providers.

Waitwhile | VP/SVP Marketing | Remote | Fulltime | https://waitwhile.com/

At Waitwhile, we work on tools to eliminate the 1 Trillion hours that people spend waiting in lines every year. We help companies like IKEA, Lululemon, Hartford HealthCare and many others improve waiting for over 100M people (including a lot of COVID-19 vaccination lines right now!)

We're a bunch of engineers and designers building great product and technology - but we know next to nothing about Marketing and how to build a brand.

So to that end, we're looking for our first outrageously good marketing leader (VP/SVP/CMO) to build our marketing strategy from the grounds up. We're posting this here on HN since we want someone who is technical and excited about doing scrappy and clever things.

We're profitable and raised a Series A ($12M) from CRV recently to go faster, so we have some good capital to invest in great marketing.

If you're interested, send me (the CEO) an email at christoffer@waitwhile.com or check out the job posting on https://waitwhile.com/jobs

Strongly agree. Blueprint for Armageddon [1] about the machinations of WW1 is still the best audio narrative I've ever heard. I recently listened to it again after my first binge back in 2014 and it's still unparalleled.

Supernova in the East is also deeply fascinating and disturbing.

Google announced earlier this month that they would cancel the physical event and make it an online-only experience. Now they've decided to scrap that also.

That’s exactly what Google does best.

Canceling things

Same here. It seems very unlikely they would not resend a phone lost in delivery. When it happened to me, they immediately ordered a replacement device.

Congratulations to you. Well done bouncing back quickly!

Thank you :)

Wow. Really happy for the both of you.
