Meanwhile youtube has banned Channel 1, NTV, TNT, RT, Moscow 24 and even "Spas", and are banning users that post ''misinformation'' about Russia's actions in Ukraine.
Putin's demands seem reasonable. he wants ethnic Russians in the east of the country to stop being terrorised and murdered and he wants to be assured NATO can't create a security threat for Russia in Ukraine. Is there much public support in Ukraine to end the invasion by agreeing to his terms?
NATO is creating a security threat? The countries from the Eastern Bloc have run towards NATO because they're afraid of Russia and potential annexation. The only security threat is in Putin's head.
The point of the service denial is to agitate precisely this kind of reaction from the public with the desire that they revolt against Putin. Of course if they do, many will die or get locked up in a dark cell somewhere up but it will complicate things for Putin.
The other tactic the western powers have is to try and get as many Ukrainian civilians killed as possible for the propaganda effort. This is why they promote lobbing molotovs against tanks etc. Putin desires to kill as few civilians as possible as he can easily win the war. Winning the peace will be more difficult and they need to make it as difficult as possible.
They will desire revolt...abroad, against meaningless western "collective support" moves from huge businesses.
Don't go too deep here, it's only an advertising campaign and collective ostracism action, which can't be avoided by Enterprises without loss of reputation. So they often trying to do something, but almost nothing at the same time, minimizing own damage (but causing it to narrow categories of users).
She wasn't Irish. She was British but born in Ireland. This is part of Ireland's attempt to cobble together some sort of anti fascist history as nationalism rises due to the displacement levels of immigration seeing numbers greater than the historical plantations of her kind, the legacy of which still causes trouble to this day.
More accurate to say she was Anglo-Irish, as she was born in Ireland.
> This is part of Ireland's attempt to cobble together some sort of anti fascist history as nationalism rises due to the displacement levels of immigration seeing numbers greater than the historical plantations of her kind ...
Who is creating this narrative? And what do you mean by "Ireland's attempt"?
Nationalism tends to have a different meaning in Ireland and while there is some anti immigration feeling on the rise I would suggest that it is small and entirely misplaced in a country from which many more people traditionally emigrate.
Amazon have been doing this for a couple of years now. They removed all of Greg Johnson's books for example. VISA and Mastercard have also blacklisted him meaning he can't use any payment processor to sell his books on his counter currents website. He can only accept money orders or cheques. There is nothing illegal in his books.
I didn't move to telegram because I want to secretly plan an insurgency. I moved there because of the threat of censorship from big tech. It's way more than a messaging app and incredibly feature rich.
It has secure options at least. But importantly doesn't require my phone number to create an account and contact people. But also has a lot of features that are missing in something like Signal.
Signal is my preferred option, but I'm not keen on sharing my phone number with everyone.
Sorry, you don't need to use your phone number to contact someone. You can just give them your Telegram username. Which is sufficient for me in my use case for Telegram.
To be fair, the article does make a distinction, saying the other parts weren't part of the holocaust, necessitating a different name for everything else.
It doesn't deny that other stuff happens, it just defines the holocaust as not including them.
Personally, I never knew the scale of the non-holocaust parts of the holocaust era until reading this today, and I expect it's because of the narrow scope of the term's definition. So I'm sympathetic to konjin's view even though it's just a question of definitions instead of a question of facts.
