Isn’t it just AIs that have an agenda? That lie to you? That use a directive to persuade you to do / purchase something under the guise of authority?

ChatGPT, etc. right now is the early web where everything was free and everyone wondered how it would make money.

Soak it up because it won’t last long.

As a high-end residential GC, I'm very interested in this product. We have incorporated Leica Totalstation and BLK360 into our projects. It assists confirming layouts, as-built conditions, and communicating with design professionals working remotely.

It's easy enough to add Leica cameras to your Leica Geosystems deployment, but then you need to do geotechncial work in-house so that you can complete the Leica trifecta.

What is the value to you of making the SitePrint automated (robotic)? Would it take that much human time to push one of these around? Is it precision?

We find it pencils out on jobs with large OH /pan deck slabs or SOGs over 12000SF

What are the costs like on those scanners? They look amazing!

And people skiing down Mt. Everest. I always like to think about progress and our current reality in comparison to Star Trek….

Great article. As a high-end residential builder, much of this also applies to my project managers and i shared the article with one of my APMs that's been promoted to PM.

Well I'm glad we've put this age old question to bed

I’ve read that a shuttle refit after landing was so expensive and time consuming to render it useless…. Feel free to correct if wrong.

The turnaround time for Shuttle was 2-3 months, while building a brand new rocket takes like 1-2 years. Although for the cost of Shuttle, we could have built a whole bunch of expendable rockets, pipelined with a regular launch cadence, and probably also gotten some cost savings through economies of scale.

And, the market projections that indicated there would be enough payloads for large amounts of launches were also basically fraudulent.

Makes me think about George Carlin's standup route about how the Earth just wanted plastic and humans are 'just a surface nuisance'

The amount of learned knowledge and skills from an endeavor like the space program extends out to so many industries. We can thank the space program for vital inventions like the Super Soaker
