Could it be that both allowing American billionaires to use their hordes of gold to influence elections is also bad, but we don’t have the tools to stop them as readily as foreign adversaries? Must every solution be perfect from the outset? Must we do everything at once?
For instance, some fairly commonly used Linux apps like ulauncher, autokey, fail2ban and xpra depend on pyinotify which hasnt been maintained for the last 6 years or so, which is why fedora, arch and nixos now includes patches to make it 3.12 compatible. I don’t find it very unlikely that your inhouse script could be using it too.
Yes I did, and no it didn't really help. Sure it was a much slicker starting point, but when I needed to do a bit more (ie. configure a formatter) it just added more obfuscation than anything. The "pre-cooked" part does help with setting up linting, but formatting...you're kind of on your own (if you search the source you can find an example with prettier but you will still need to add your own integration for anything else).
