Uhhh... but aren't all the cool kids using nginx?

Well, I thought the "study" to be ridiculous from the start...

This is was really "interesting". To summarize it: I will never work for Google, Facebook or Twitter, because they want to make profit. Jeez...these are not ONG's or some sort of humanitarian enterprises! How does he think that these companies pay developer salaries? And saying that all of those companies are focused in platforms for advertisement is clearly an understatement. I never cared too much for the add's that Facebook has and neither was offended by them. It's all business at the end of the day and a legit way of making money.

"That said, Eclipse and the Android SDK is a pain to install even if you are a java wizard." Why? I just followed Google's instructions and it was breeze to install Android SDK...

It wasn't always so easy.

My first install went pretty well. Then I upgraded my Linux box and installing it didn't go well. So I upgraded to the newest Eclipse and it worked okay.

Then I upgrade Eclipse and it broke, so I went back.

Then I tried to install it on Windows and it was so painful that I just gave up and remoted into my Linux box.

Recently, I tried Windows again and it went like a dream.

Installing Eclipse and Android SDK should be easy right now, but they weren't always.

I installed the Android SDK easily. I do not understand all the fuss regarding the SDK installation. The emulator is slow though, no question there.

Patents in Europe are much, very much, less restrictive than in USA: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_patents_under_the_Euro...
