Let’s not get carried away in our praise of Singapore’s leaders. Singapore is an authoritarian state and Lee is a part of the ruling family.

For all those interested in how Singapore can possibly be a duality of "sometimes good sometimes bad", just look at how Singapore treats its Malay population as second class citizens.

For example, if a Singaporean Malay marries a Malaysian Malay, there is still a large chance their Permanent Residency application will be denied. This usually doesn't happen to someone who marries Han Chinese, of which Singapore is 70%.

We also found out this week that a man that is showing signs of dementia is all but certain to win the democratic primary and face Trump for the presidency. Weird times.

You should try telling that to a poor person in this country. Your experience “lacks perspective”. This is the wealthiest and most powerful country on earth. How we treat our poor and sick says a lot about us as a country.

I’ve also experienced this a couple times and it was terrifying. It was exactly as in the depiction on Wikipedia. A demon came over me very quickly as I laid in bed and I was unable to move.

God I hate the automatic playing of trailers. I usually mute my receiver so that I can peacefully browse and read through descriptions only to find out that there’s nothing on Netflix I actually want to watch.

Responsible or sustainable animal agriculture is a pipe dream at this point. With 7+ billion people on a planet facing environmental destruction it’s irresponsible to advocate for the consumption of meat.

Costco is quite responsible. I think the fact that they are opening a giant chicken farm is a good indication that it is not a pipe dream.

Because it's quite trendy to hate on all things Microsoft, especially in Silicon Valley startup culture. I'm a C# developer and have had other developers cringe in my face when I tell them I'm a C#/.NET developer.

I use VSCode and develop exclusively on Windows 10. I also have mac and linux machines. I think its better to be agnostic when it comes to language and OS.
