I feel like that would be better paired with the "dough" double meaning instead of bread. "Life's a shit pizza, the more dough you have the less it tastes like shit."

Today we work mainly in Go and JavaScript and put roughly equal emphasis on writing papers and writing software. Team members need to be able to define their own areas of interest, write their own supporting documents, and lead their own coding projects while welcoming help and input from others. Simultaneous with the largely independent effort is a need to demonstrate to stakeholders outside the team why your work is valuable.
