He says ge jacked up the car to give less friction. The wear should be mininimal as no actual cornering forces are involved, which are suprisingly large, ofren exceeding the weight of the car in (momentary) lateral force. While this will still cause some wear, it is negligible. I would imagine the ideal would involve a force feedback module and completely lifting the wheels from contact. Perhaps even utilizing the cars own electric power steering.

I feel like you are the one who has never met a cop in a situation you were not a suspect , if you have and expouse publicly, that opinion.

What makes you feel that? The post you responded to makes complete sense and reflects countless instances of police brutality directed towards individual peaceful protestors.

Here's just one example out of literally countless examples of police brutality directed towards individual peaceful protestors: https://www.thecity.nyc/2022/08/29/nypd-cop-pepper-spray-blm...

Ironically (but unsurprisingly), this example of wanton and indiscriminate police brutality was the police response to protests against wanton and indiscriminate police brutality.

> this example of wanton and indiscriminate police brutality was the police response to protests against wanton and indiscriminate police brutality.

Actually probably not. Judging from them holding their hands up, their protest are probably motivated by the "hands up, don't shoot" hoax, based on a false claim that Michael Brown had his hands up when he was shot by the policeman. In reality, Michael Brown was not a victim of the indiscriminate police brutality, but rather repeatedly attacked a police officer and tried to relieve him of his weapon (no doubt out of mere peaceful curiosity). The whole "hands up" narrative has been invented later and distributed by the media, and had no basis in fact. One may notice here that while police brutality is indeed an existing and reprehensible thing, a lot of cases of "indiscriminate police brutality" touted by the press, after proper examination, turn out not to be so.

Why single out a rifle? Handguns are cheaper, concealable, and used in most mass shootings already. Demonize the actor not the tool.

“Why single out a rifle”? C’mon, man. The shooting being discussed in this thread would have been orders of magnitude less devastating with just a handgun, and you know it. Don’t make it a weird 2A thing.

The objective is not “make sure nobody in Vegas has a gun” the objective is “prevent a mass casualty event like the previous one”

Obviously the “tool” makes a difference, otherwise the tool wouldn’t have been used.

This is seriously deranged. I honestLy can't relate and find this sickening.

So its scanning your phone for sideloaded apps and reportung that to nother google and trying to capture it under their system. Embrace, extend, extinguish indeed.

Its a psychological thing. Cuta down on shoplifting, makes you more apt to buy something if you have to pass the same persone coming in and going out, etc. They would not hire them if it did not bolster the bottom line.

Look at who is selling to both sides.

The visual pollution of signs, cameras, vans, and vandalism has increased as a direct result, as are costs for maintanice, and constant replacement of said cameras and tracking systems. It really seems more like a tax on the poor, and an attempt at social control rather than an ecological concern, based upon its implementation. To call it unpopular would greatly undersell common sentiment. Google ulez blade runners for some interesting takes.

I live on the edge of the zone and have never even noticed the cameras. The replacements are required due to vandals. It is done principally to improve air quality for residents, not ecology. It is unpopular amongst a small but vocal part of the population who care little for the lives of others.

I guess ULEZ equipment could be removed once the last polluting vehicles are off the roads, so maybe not that long.

Not really a tax on the poor, any more than banning cheap plastic straws. We are, unfortunately, in a climate crisis and all the C40 cities of the world have agreed to take action to mitigate the problem.

It's not perfect, but the alternative is to let emissions continue to rise and contribute to increased global warming. It's a tricky decision.

Infantalizing tools of violence, or re-inforcing gun toys for kids, there is no good argument for the w'squirt gun.

Might have been even more useful before most of the posts became marketing slop after it sold years ago. Can you set it to only look at very old results?

Do you feel that most posts are marketing slops nowadays?

IMO posts maybe but most comments still seem pretty legit and genuine. And I see a lot of mods work hard to remove comments or posts that seem to have ulterior motives.

I can set it to look at very old results but that means it'll be based on potentially outdated opinions. At least for the current category (portable monitors), the models improve pretty fast.
