Which is why there's probably nothing remotely interesting in them logs.

Intelligence agencies get caught red handed all the time so I wouldn't be too sure.

If it was an organised group I'm sure they were careful, of course, but it only takes one fuckup.

It's quite fun. Start here: https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nostr

Shouldn't take too long to run out of "silly" questions before you get to the right ones, as long as the interest is there and it's genuine. Now how do you foster sincere curiosity is a better question :)

Maybe that's a good thing?

I'm trying to dispel the myth that all good dotcoms are already taken and/or unaffordable with https://zlipa.com

It's passive income in the sense that I add new brands in the weekend and mostly doing this for fun.

This looks really cool! Nice job.

Yes and sites like Crypto Panic! What I wanted to do was focus on building a community with quality discussions, as opposed to (in some cases) the homepage being filled with information about daily price moves

And you call it hodler news? I get that finding a good name is difficult but hodlernews? Is it because it almost sounds like hackernews?

Crypto has many interesting things. Hodling and price movements, while perhaps the most lucrative, are also the least interesting. At least, from a curiosity point of view.

Names I would think of are more like:

Blockchainthreads

Blockshardnews

I am not fully hitting the mark, but basically a more technical name or a sociocultural name that doesn’t sound too mainstream (I have a hard time thinking of one).

I'd guess that if you're hodling you don't care so much about charts and are looking further into the future.

There's also https://rekt.news/

Meanwhile, accepting Bitcoin Lightning Network payments is free of charge. Can't wait for more adoption.

I dislike Bitcoin but Lightning Network is effectively a decentralized Paypal. Assuming it works, it should have a very easy time competing against these excessive fees.

Oh, if only it were that easy! Just get the dotcom that's already registered or otherwise costs £3,995/year bro!

Gee, I wonder who made zlipa?

Nice, so only you're allowed to flip your parked domains.

> Just the transaction costs alone make it infeasible to use Bitcoin to order pizza.

Blatantly false. Transacting on the Lightning Network (Bitcoin L2) costs next to nothing and the settlement is final and immediate.

Screw pizza, top-of-mind, you can pay a fraction of a cent's worth for an API call with Bitcoin (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=28459713)...

or pay 66 satoshis (~$0.03) / hour for a VPS instance (https://www.bitclouds.sh)...

or buy gift cards for any amount (https://www.bitrefill.com/buy/)...

or tip anyone as little as 1 satoshi (~$0.00046) (here's 5 cents worth https://ln.cash/tFVDMpUMRQPYwyj9DZHMqg)...

or hell, if you're feeling like pizza, DM me on Twitter and I'll get you one, paid for in Bitcoin (https://ln.pizza).

Running a T-account in Excel is even more energy-efficient.

A recent report "Energy Footprint of Blockchain Consensus Mechanisms Beyond Proof-of-Work" (http://blockchain.cs.ucl.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/UC...) has estimated (Table VI) the energy consumed per transaction of leading proof-of-stake and found that some exceed the efficiency of VisaNet (including Eth 2.0 on a high-throughput projection):

Platform | Per transaction (kW h/tx)
  Eth. 2.0 | 0.00009 – 0.00286 (High throughput projection)
  Eth. 2.0 | 0.01823 – 0.55713 (Low throughput projection)
  Algorand | 0.00017 – 0.00534
  Cardano | 0.01239 – 0.37854
  Polkadot | 0.00378 – 0.11556
  Tezos | 0.00036 – 0.01096
  Bitcoin | 360.39300 – 3691.40700
  VisaNet | 0.00358
