Astronomical objects that visibly change in human timescales are pretty rare. A naked-eye visible supernova remnant was one of the first clues that challenged the idea that the heavens were static, permanently set by God.

One of my favorite examples of astronomical timelapse is the motion of objects around SagA*. That I think might be the first example I saw. I'm not sure if they set out to make multiple observations specifically to map this motion or if it was something saw they could do from existing data. S

It freezes as pressure drops when you try to use it from the tank. Like how a can of air duster gets cold when you spray it.

Don't forget the co-conspirators!

The weirdest part about that is this administration was clearly willing to just stall and could have done what the CIA and FBI does all the time and just "disappear" all of the documents.

What would be the fallout? The Democrats are complicit, the regime all but controls the judiciary (at least the Supreme Court.) And a lot of these guys are billionaires and untouchable anyway unless someone does a Luigi on them. They have the ability to just brute force past the controversy and yet they've chosen to attempt the most ridiculously inept coverup possible.

On the one the sheer stupidity of this administration and its incompetence at implementing fascism means that as bad as things are they could be much worse. On the other hand I fear that once JD Vance or someone just as evil but without Trump's instability takes power we're going to wish we'd done something more when we had the chance.

It depends on which administration you support if the redactions have been completed in good faith.

I don't think this is a requirement anymore

The sun is not the only radiative body in the solar system.

F1 cars have long since stopped trying to be as fast as humanly possible. Making a car that is faster than an F1 over 1 lap is impressive but not exactly unexpected. I would like to see the McMurtry attempt a full grand prix and see how fast it is.

IDK what a grand prix is. McMurtry uses downforce fans which were banned from F1 some decades ago, so it would not be allowed to compete in F1 or formula-E or whatever. Otherwise it would beat all the conventional cars. The downforce fans give it too much of an advantage, which is why they are prohibited now.

For some history, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brabham_BT46

TLDR: they entered a fan car in 1978 that beat everything else, but provoked enough opposition that they pulled out of competition and the technology was banned. The present-day Spéirling was inspired partly by that car.

Also: https://fancarexperience.com/ pay $5000 an hour to drive the Spéirling around a track. Different packages available starting at $500 for a quick ride and acceleration test.

And: Stig Laps (Top Gear test drive, sets new record for that track), https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDfKhBcGh9w

The tunnels aren't perfect vacuums

That doesn't help me, I'm afraid. It must be low enough pressure to allow lower air resistance on the train, so must be a significant vacuum. Even if not a perfect vacuum, the carriage can presumably not exchange air with it, since the carriage is at a higher pressure. If you used aircon in the train the lower pressure air in the tunnel would be very poor at convecting heat away?
