Wow! By this metric if you can't find my life's story on Google, I must be fake. And, pari passu, anything you find about me on Google must be not fake. Unless, of course, your post was an attempt at trolling... In which case, I must admit, you've succeeded. ;-)

Thank you. By writing this comment you just proved the statement I made above.
Did I say I couldn't find details about her on Google? On the contrary, I found enough evidence while doing a simple Google search to come to a reasonable conclusion. If I can't find your story I would reserve my judgement.
> Companies with single shareholders
> Cal Poly and Caltech
> Shitty websites for companies supplying important formulations to the likes of Estee Lauder
and many more..
Please avoid using the word 'Troll' casually without concrete evidence.
Imagine that 200 people are living in a town with minimum rules that can barely ensure they don't kill each other. Everything else is up to individual whims and fancies. Most of them have enough power to threaten others and there is no leader than can rap them when they fall out of line.
Maybe we should look at things in this lens instead of our commonly held views at the individual level to make sense of various things to take the right decisions.
The problem I see here is, Insurance is a generic solution and doesn't fit our problem. Maybe we can take the core idea and do it better.
I'll wait to see more viewpoints instead of spamming the thread. I'm already nervous if I broke some HN rules by posting this thread.
I certainly know what it is. It's just that we have been commenting about it in the shades of other discussions like X joining Y. I wanted to start a broader discussion instead of talking about it the context of other stories.
Aren't we supposed to make a great and compelling product that makes each one of our customers pay us this $37. Why do we even need to do do all this rolling syndicated thingy?
Investment from anybody is a pain that is worth taking if you are getting a large amount in return. For the smaller amounts, working with customers is better on the pain-return axis.
The value in accepting $37 from pinboard or a16z is in getting a lot of exposure and not the money.
Are you serious or joking when you made this offer? Either you guys missed the point or you want to put your name on the meme of the day. Can you give me a compelling reason for me to accept the $37 from you?
How can a journalist be such a fool to publish something as ridiculous as this? A simple Google search can confirm that she is fake.
With this article behind her back, don't be surprised if she ends up on a '50 under 50' list within a year.
