Fuck google plus, fuck it up it's ass.

Wow, quite pithy for HN!

Tbat was a Youtube commenter who migrated to HN.

Actually, I think you meant to say "fuck it up its ass". You're welcome!

She's a mini-Hitler. That's the company I'll avoid seeking employment at.

I'm not sure that is fair to say. I think all companies will go through a "fat trimming" period. Yahoo grew big and didn't/doesn't have the business model to sustain that growth.

Side Note: I am actually confused about what Yahoo's market is now-a-days.

>fat trimming

and if that's the case - that's exactly what you say instead of - "these are bad devs and we don't need them". Hey person with family and kids - screw you - good luck finding a job after Yahoo CEO declared you an unworthy asset.

> Hey person with family and kids - screw you - good luck finding a job after Yahoo CEO declared you an unworthy asset.

What would you rather have happen: (a) a company fires their under-performing employees and maybe becomes successful or (b) a company keeps these employees around forever and ends up failing, putting everyone who works there out of a job (instead of just the under-performers)?

Obviously the people being fired should be treated with respect, and I'd hope they will get a fair severance package, etc. But business is business, and keeping around employees who are dragging the company down isn't good for anyone in the long term.

(I have no stake in Yahoo, and know little about their layoffs. I just don't understand your argument.)

TIL. devs continue using google after NSA revelations. They also praise google voice. google and apple ftw yo.

In light of all the NSA revelations, I think we can say that using Google Voice is probably not any more dangerous than using any other type of SMS or telephone service.

That's not the point, though, is it?

Isn't it? OP was suggesting boycotting a particular company and someone responded to essentially say "Boycott them in favour of whom?"

Journalist Michael Hastings dead after telling his friends that he has a big story on CIA director and he needs to lay low for a while as FBI is "onto him".

How about that western word?

None of those "putin journo killings" has never been proven to have any links to Putin. All these anti-Russian accusations are moral equivalents of people claiming that US government killed Michael Hastings.

So please - STFU.

Thankfully, the notion that Hastings was somehow killed by having his car remote-controlled by the CIA has largely become the province of Infowars.com.

When the Russian government has someone killed, they don't die in a mysterious accident. They're gunned down, when they're lucky. When they're not, they die an agonizing death after being subtly and fatally poisoned by radioactive isotopes.
