That's too bad, I would have loved to apply.
Modesty aside, I think I would be a great fit for the position, since I currently do a similar job (similar tasks and stack) and I am looking to move to another job.
But I am not based on the U.S.
I totally agree with this.
Pretty much everything is dubbed in France, Italy and Spain.
I also learned a lot of english by watching movies and series in the original language with subtitles.
Well, I have a lot to thank to those British series running on our channels, and also Bristh evenings on RTP2, specially 'Allo 'Allo!, Mr Bean, The Avengers, Thunderbirds, Danger Mouse, The Saint, Poirot and many others.
Interesting article.
I will start working full remote starting next year and I had some of the misconceptions mentioned.
Can't wait for the next article!
> Same salary? That's funny! I lived in Spain before moving to Switzerland.
Regarding "free healthcare" and "better weather, no crunch culture, better social life" yeah, I agree on that!
> Salaries are certainly not capped at 140k CHF, I've seen a number of job ads for 180K CHF
Are you speaking about CH or USA? Because in CH it pretty much seems to be capped at 140k CHF and below. Unless you are speaking of a very specific role/technology stack.
I agree with this one on some part. It will depend on the city. For Zurich, I agree with that but for Geneva, where I live, that does not apply. The cultural diversity here is way bigger when comparing to Zurich, the fact that a lot of international organizations (UN, Red Cross) are based here may help with that.
I've been working in Switzerland for 6 months, from what I've seen it is very common to find jobs with 1 day a week working from home but very unusual to find 100% remote jobs
