Yep you got it, the extension displays the score on the search engine result. I thought about making it filter out all the "bad" results... perhaps in the next version.
And why does bing do it??? I pulled my hair out for a while over that one, it was wreaking a bit of havoc in the tests.
The way I see it, ranking the web was the easy part but it has already started to become hard.
It's an old trope that search engine results were fantastic around 2010, but these days there's so much bloat and SEO to deal with that ranking is becoming intractable.
I miss the days of Youtube dislikes where you can instantly see whether a tutorial is going to be any help. I figure with decent moderation for bad actors, a system like this could definitely work. Take the success of Reddit / HN / StackOverflow as proof of it.
