And soon enough it would need a project manager and HR to keep all the agents in line.

I hope the future becomes AI b2b sass agents selling b2b sass to other agents, just tools buying tools that in turn buy other tools ad infinitum

I went into the article expecting to find useful insights on swarm robotics.

I found nothing but a bunch of buzzwords and a sense that the author doesn't know a thing about swarms OR robotics.

title: "how X will improve Y"

article: "x + gen AI = more/better/cheaper Y"

Or more generally

X + current hype

Before AI it was blockchain and smart contracts

> The continued shortage of software engineers, coupled with research showing that AI tools are particularly beneficial for junior developers...

I stopped reading after this.

> Up to 23x faster than fastest Intel‑based MacBook Air

Comparing it to a 6 year old laptop.

> Up to 2x faster than MacBook Air (M1)

Comparing it to a 5 year old laptop.

Love these comparisons.

> Love these comparisons.

It's great it resonates with you! Rather compelling to realize their target upgrade cycle is only every 5+ years instead of a 1 or 2 year treadmill.

This is SO much better than Windows explorer! And I'm more than happy to pay for it.

The only issue I have noticed is that the context menu takes a while to open, and it is made worse because of the opening and closing animation. It keeps bugging me because I feel like the context menu of Windows explorer is a bit snappier than this.

I might be wrong but that's what it feels like.

That's FP waiting for Windows. When it takes longer, it's usually a third-party plugin initializing.

I have some things to try to mitigate these issues, but unfortunately, this whole architecture is broken. MS should not have allowed extensions to take over.

Would you recommend any app to "troubleshoot" these delays? Maybe a tool that helps seeing which extensions take long to load?

ShellExView can be used to track down slow extensions (but it doesn't offer runtime performance numbers):

I was just thinking about this while checking out the Seedlabs page.

Because now it is somewhat commercially available, and a lot of people (including myself) that previously weren't thinking of having this just because of the hasstle of assembling it themselves, can now consider buying a pre-made unit and play around with it.

I was thinking that it'd be REALLY GREAT if there was an easy way of making "apps" for this smart knob. Kind of like watchfaces or pebble apps. Anything to make it easier for people to play around with this. Maybe a lightweight SDK or something.

I'd be more than happy to contribute to such a thing, but doing this alone is too daunting of a task.

Side note, the 245 EUR price by Seedlabs is equally daunting :(

Real

If you want reassurance, a guy commented "The Trump example on the homepage sounds nothing like Trump."

There is no reassurance that can be made since there have already been examples of voice cloning that are not differentiable from the real people.

There is a very common saying in IT, "Attacks only get better".

Voice Cloning falls under the umbrella of deepfake technologies. When its done without consent, it is an attack on the person, it also violates any number of laws.

The ethics of building and releasing tools designed for deepfake generation have been widely discussed and debated. The general consensus by academics and industry (reasonable people) has been that it is not appropriate to build and release tools whose primary use is in causing harm or breaking the law.

Negligence is a pretty low bar to reach in this incidence, all you need is to show: duty, breach, causation, and damages to win such a claim.

It is almost certain that OP doesn't have consent forms from the people whose voices are being used on the front page.
