I forgot the title of a Polish book I once read, but I remember many plot points. When I described them to gpt 4o, in five responses it gave me six books, three of which were English and one was Russian, but attributed all six of them to random Polish fantasy writers (even Polish ones had the wrong authors).

https://demo.f4map.com/#lat=-33.8564200&lon=151.2149210&zoom... f4map does a pretty good job, although I'm not sure if they use some extra model here or just render it based on osm data. Sydney opera house seems pretty well mapped and I think you could get something like that from it.

But definitely something similar can be rendered. Streets Gl handles complex shapes quite well: https://streets.gl/#52.23135,21.00506,45.00,0.00,1466.87

F4Map has an option "F4-specific buildings" which has premade 3D models for certain landmarks, including the opera house.

that's definitely a 3d model and the harbour bridge a few hundred metres away is still a flat line on the water

Linux just sucks at deploying proprietary software in a reliable manner.

In Yoga C740 it only blocks the shutter. Covering the LED doesn't make sense to me

I suppose covering the LED is a less expensive way to provide the same user experience as hooking an electrical switch to the ThinkShutter to electrically turn off the LED when it's in the "blocked" position.

But if we're talking about privacy, I would like to know if something is using the camera even when it's obstructed
