I'm using this right now to write a game. I've never developed a game before, so I don't have any comparison with other engines. So far I like it. I'm not a huge fan of the IDE, but the gdscript language isn't hard to pick up at all, so I just avoid it and use vim. I'm excited to see where it goes as it feels like a great starting point for people like me who want to make a hobby game, but also feels polished enough that I could see a professional using it.
