Our team has a daily standup call where we discuss what we've been up to (we're remote but in compatible timezones); where appropriate this will include screen sharing to demo a feature we're working on.
We have automated slack notifications for GitHub commits, and the team leader and all other developers have full access to the git logs to see what each of us has done. We also use Trello to keep track of tasks.
