The behavior has been reproduced by HN users. Of course the source is biased, but so is any Chinese news outlet. It's not like American outlets are perfectly neutral either.

I appreciate the clear headline since the other thread was flooded with what about ism stooges preventing anyone from understanding the significance of a single post complaining to Google with no context and locked comments.
If you look through the past threads linked at the top of this page, you'll find examples where people were testing this and getting affirmative results, though not everyone did.
