I see that they allow you to search through your messages across all platforms.
How do they achieve that, unless they're somehow storing all my messages in their backend (which I'm not really a fan of if that'd be the case)
Messages are stored in encrypted form on the Beeper server and the Beeper client has a local search index (the same one used by Element desktop: https://github.com/matrix-org/seshat)
