Unless you're trying to get to us-east-1, the largest region.

I think you can switch back to east-1 when you get to the service you are wanting to look at.

And, of course, status page is all green as of right now. Why even bother having a status page?

It seems the impact are limited to console, and individual services are still accessible via AWS cli. Seems like their web frontend problem.

The status page has sections for the console and those should have been red. Multiple ones even for billing, management, etc.

Status page now shows an event. "8:30 AM PDT We are investigating increased error rates and latencies for the AWS Management Console."

And they now show a "temporary unavailable" message:

Console is now back. Defective software deployment which has been rolled back.
