Isn't that the whole point of free speech, to nonviolently speak out against and overthrow governments that you disagree with? Wasnt that the logic behind including it in the constitution in the first place?


Not at all. They specifically mention tyranny, not just people you “disagree with”. They also assumed political parties would never be created because they designed the legislative bodies to be sufficiently elitist, that it was presumed there would be no significant factions within wealthy holders of large capital.


This author has no idea what a government overthrow looks like.

Hint, it's not a bunch of unarmed Larpers and undercover FBI agents storming a lightly guarded capitol building.

The Capitol riots? It was most definitely agent provocateurs who infiltrate every protest to justify actions against the protestors. Twitter just used it as an excuses to get rid of Trump to please their friends.
