GM and Ford, Driving to Beat Tesla, Turn on Each Other (wsj.com)

Musk has gone from huge asset to liability. Trying to appeal to the party that officially denies climate change is real and blames wind/solar for grid problems does not help sales of expensive electric cars and solar panels.

IMO musk squandered his first-mover advantage. He should have moved down-market years ago, maybe with a different brand and made Tesla the "halo".

China is eating everyone's lunch with newer, far cheaper LFP prismatic batteries that telsa should have adopted half decade ago. Tesla is still using Lithium Ion NMC even for cheapest models when the world moved on long time ago.

Tesla also uses LFP batteries:

Interesting. Not sure about Ford, just seems to be noted as lithium ion:

>officially denies climate change

Actually, that is false. They deny the reason for climate change being solely caused by humans. Hopefully one day an honest discussion can be had on this subject.

No sane person of any political persuasion thinks humans are "solely" the reason for climate change. I would even include both Jill Stein and Donald Trump in the category of "sane" in this context (but not most others). This is the most strawman comment I think I've ever seen on the internet.

Without humans sending great gobs of CO2 into the atmosphere the climate at this point would be starting to tip into another ice age. So, yes, all scientifically aware humans agree that the current cause of climate change is human induced. It can be argued though that warming is better than freezing. Personally, I expect say 100 years from now when warming is on the wane we'll start burning fossil fuels just to avoid an ice age. But in the mean time CO2 is a bad thing. The golden mean is what we are seeking.

That is not the sentiment that is parroted in mainstream media.
