Ask HN: What Is Ra1In3tP0l SSID on the London Underground
2 points by seasicksteve on Nov 2, 2022 | hide | past | favorite | 3 comments
Ra1In3tP0l is an SSID which appears at every tube stop with wifi. Any ideas on what the name means and what it's used for?

Mystery solved. It stands for Rail Net Police, it's a private network for the British Transport Police's equipment to use whilst in the station where they won't have mobile coverage

Probably a dedicated network for the Tube workers to use.
