The market doesn't seem to agree. And where are all of the minority angels/VCs who consistently outperform and are exponentially compounding their outperformance by investing in fellow outperformers?


2023 saw the decimation of funding in every non-AI industry. AI even more than CS, has a dearth of black practitioners.

Some of these outcomes pair with obvious hypotheses. Researchers should do their due diligence trying to validate/invalidate the top ones. Too much social science research and journalism feels like: ". Data reveals observation X. We wonder why X happened. Also, we'll keep wondering. No investigating".
