Yeah hut I have clients that don't have a AWS account yet and I planned on launching one soon and now I need to launch with a new untested git setup. I need to learn about other providers security ASAP to provide the same experience. I see no reason to just stop it completely right after the announcement.
It was nice to have everything managed internally by AWS. Because of corporate bureaucracy, it is a lot easier to have complete control over a CodeCommit repository as an admin to AWS accounts than get what I needed it with Githin
