Even Synology's "proprietary" RAID is just Linux mdadm, and they have instructions on their website on how to mount it under Linux. One of the reasons I preferred Synology in the first place was their openness about stuff like that!

it's migrating to btrfs raid 1 now. and their docs just say to wipe the drivers in case of issues lol.
