I am completely unfamiliar with this situation. What has actually been going on with McAffee lately, and how does this situation tie into it? Is everybody sure that we're not getting all worked up about what will turn out to be a psychiatric diagnosis?
He is now apparently safe with his girlfriend outside Belize with a couple of folks from Vice Magazine, and the guy that was arrested was deliberate smokescreen on McAfee's part.
There seems to be much speculation going on. I would say the headline is misleading. All the post does state is, that they haven't been able to contact McAfee and they had an anonymous phone call mentioning an arrest.
Judging by McAfee's level of crazyness, any hasty conclusions from such a situation seem highly speculative.
Doesn't appear to be confirmed whatsoever. That rumor was based on an "anonymous" phone call. On Sunday, another report shows the complete opposite, with Belize officials denying any claims of his capture:
I'm sorry, but this whole situation - which is not typical HN fare in itself, let's face it - is just such an absurdist farce that no other comment could really do it justice. It really is Simpsons-esque:

In 2001, the word "Doh" was added to the Oxford English Dictionary;[8][9] The definition given is:[8][10]
Expressing frustration at the realization that things have turned out badly or not as planned, or that one has just said or done something foolish. Also (usu. mildly derogatory): implying that another person has said or done something foolish (cf. DUH int.).
The headword spelling is doh, but d'oh is listed as a variant (as is dooh). The etymology section notes "the word appears (in the form D'oh) in numerous publications based on The Simpsons".[8] Eight quotations are cited: the earliest is from 1905; two others are Simpsons-related.
"Doh!" is a minimalist emotional response that allows its poster to succinctly express his impression and thoughts on the subject posted. It just happens that this impression is conveniently described in just 4 letter glyphs.
